A zombie walk is an organized public gathering of people dressed in zombie costumes. Usually taking place in an urban centre, the participants make their way around the city streets in a zombified fashion.

The first Melbourne Zombie Walk was held in 2016 at Birrarung Marr and attracted hundreds of participants. With each passing year, the number of participants doubled, culminating in our most significant event at Federation Square, with more than 2,000 zombies recorded.

The Melbourne Zombie Walk 2024 will commence at Fortress Games Melbourne, Shop 25/23 Caledonian Lane, with participants ambling through Melbourne's inner city streets. 

​

Everyone involved in the walk is encouraged to dress up and act like a zombie to shock and delight the unaware public.

 

Participants then trek back to the starting point for the 'Zombies After Dark' party to celebrate the procession's completion and dance the night away.
